The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was investigating the “suspicious death” of a woman that occurred late Saturday afternoon in the Villeray–Saint-Michel–Parc-Extension borough, in Montreal.
Around 5:40 p.m., 911 received a call regarding a possible conflict inside a home on Bélair Street, near 21e avenue, in the Saint-Michel district, indicates the SPVM.
Once they arrived on scene, the police saw a woman injured in the upper body in the apartment. “Resuscitation maneuvers had to be carried out, but unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead on the scene,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the SPVM.
A man is currently detained in connection with the events. He is expected to meet investigators in the coming hours. A perimeter was erected on rue Bélair.
Investigators were called to the scene to analyze the scene and “try to understand the circumstances surrounding this suspicious death,” said Mr. Brabant.
