Suspicious death in Montreal: an inert man found in a car

A man was found unresponsive Saturday morning in a car in the Centre-Sud sector of Montreal. Authorities are treating the death as suspicious.

It was shortly after 7:45 a.m. that a call was made to 911 regarding an inert man found inside a vehicle parked in an alley, near Logan and Dufresne streets.

When they arrived on site, the police actually located an unresponsive man of around 30 years old, said spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) Véronique Dubuc.

Gunshot

No resuscitation maneuvers were performed on the victim, and he was pronounced dead on scene.

“The body of the deceased bears marks of violence,” said the spokesperson.

According to our information, he suffered at least one gunshot wound.

The scene was protected, and major crimes investigators went to the scene to determine the causes and circumstances of this event.

Little information

At the end of the day Saturday, police were still trying to confirm the identity of the victim.

Residents met by The newspaper, who preferred not to identify themselves, claim to have seen the vehicle involved in this affair late Friday evening. They did not hear a gunshot.

Saturday evening, the police were combing the scene.

“He was right in the middle of the alley, really at the end. I thought it was weird, because we still know the cars that park in the alley,” said a resident.

This mysterious event did anything but reassure the neighborhood.

“It worries me,” admits a mother. Getting up in the morning and seeing the police passing here is really scary.”
