Science Po Paris: suspicions of anti-Semitism after a pro-Palestinian mobilization

(FRANCEINFO)

Students from Sciences Po Paris demonstrated for the Palestinian cause on Tuesday March 12. A controversy arose because a Jewish student was not able to enter the amphitheater.

Tuesday March 12, Sciences Po Paris was taken over by around a hundred students, supporters of the Palestinian cause. For the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF), it is above all the fact that a Jewish student was refused entry which is outrageous. This situation arose in the Council of Ministers on Wednesday March 13. Sciences Po students describe a climate of tension since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.

The management of Sciences Po seizes the disciplinary section

“The discussions are going very difficult, because in reality, everyone wants to bring their point of view, without really hearing that of the other”, explains a student. Pro-Palestinian students defend themselves against any anti-Semitism. In a press release, the Palestine Sciences Po committee speaks of individuals having “past harassed and intimidated other students about their political positions”. The management of Sciences Po condemns the action and practices used and indicates that it will contact the disciplinary section to sanction actions deemed intolerable.
