Lift parental authority
“There are 40 testimonials from women, 10 testimonials from children and 10 testimonials from professionals to shed light on the subject, which always highlight the issue of control.“, explains the deputy. “_The violent parent has a business on the victim parent and on the child,” she adds.
In France, in 2019, nearly 400,000 children lived in a home where there was domestic violence. “There is a real problem, of violence, of systematic violence. If it is not dismissed, that is to say lifting this parental authority, this system continues and via the children it continues on the victim spouses. Two-thirds of femicides and attempted femicides occur during the transfer of the child from the violent parent to the victim parent“, she analyzes.
“The words of these women and children must be heard, known and understood. These women and children do not feel heard in what they are going through, and in the dangers that persist because the protective measures are not sufficient, and the first is the suspension of parental authority to get out of this grip of a system of violence“, concludes Marie Tamarelle Verhaeghe.
