Little Célya, 6 years old, was violently killed on Friday July 12, a few hours after a kidnapping alert was triggered in Seine-Maritime. Her body was found in the forest of Saint-Martin-de-l’If.
Arrested, his mother’s partner, aged 42, is known to the courts for drug use. The body of Célya, aged 6, was discovered on the night of 12 to 13 July in a wood in Seine-Maritime, near the vehicle of her mother’s partner. According to the Rouen public prosecutor, the examination by the forensic doctor “highlighted facts of extreme violence“, such as the “major fracture of the child’s skull (…) which most likely caused his death, as well as bruising all over his body of contemporary appearance, and some post mortem.”
The alleged murderer, the partner of Célya’s mother, was tracked all night and then arrested at the edge of the woods, shortly after 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 13. Her mother alerted the police the day before around 6 p.m. She said she had been stabbed after a domestic dispute.
The man fled in his car with Célya. He lived in a village of nearly 1,000 inhabitants, near Rouen (Seine-Maritime). The alleged murderer was taken into custody for attempted murder of a spouse, kidnapping and murder of a minor under 15 years old.
