A jihadist apprentice, only 14 years old, is suspected of having planned attacks. He was arrested on Tuesday April 4 at his parents’ home in the small town of Rosenau in Alsace.
About twenty hooded anti-terrorist police officers are looking for clues in a small pavilion. The operation took place on the morning of April 4 in Rosenau (Haut-Rhin). The DGSI arrested a 14-year-old teenager, hitherto unknown to the police and who was reportedly spotted on social networks. The young man was an admirer of the Islamic State group according to the anti-terrorist services. According to his relatives, the young teenager is a good student with a scientific profile and passionate about video games.
No plan of attack has materialized
According to a source close to the investigation, the teenager had started to make a homemade explosive, but no plan of attack was materialized. Last month, another teenage Daesh fanatic was arrested in the south of France. “It’s not new, but it’s a new cycle of violence and in this regard, there are many young people who believe in the message that is being disseminated by the Islamic State”explains Alain Bauer, professor of criminology at the CNAM.
