Suspect arrested for murder of American rapper Takeoff

(Houston) Houston police announced on Friday the arrest and charging of a suspect in the case of the murder last month of young American rapper Takeoff, a member of the influential southern hip-hop group United, Migos.


The 33-year-old suspect, Patrick Xavier Clark, was arrested Thursday evening in connection with the murder of the musician, killed on 1er November at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, city police chief Troy Finner said at a press conference.

A 22-year-old man was also arrested Wednesday in this case for illegally carrying a weapon.

Houston police official Michael Burrow said the shooting took place after an argument at a private party the rapper was not attending. Two people were also shot. The investigation is continuing, Burrow added.

Born on June 18, 1994 in the state of Georgia (south), Takeoff, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, was known for his participation in the rap group Migos with his uncle Quavo and his cousin Offset, who has since left them and is now married to American rapper Cardi B.

The group from Atlanta made a name for itself in 2013 with its success Versacewhich Canadian rapper Drake had remixed.
