Is tap water really drinkable? 20% of French people have already received water improper to the quality criteria which would contain pesticides. Teams from Complément d’Enquête magazine went to Hauts-de-France to have the water analyzed.
The teams from Complément d’Enquête magazine traveled to Hauts-de-France and discovered that water analyzes do not systematically look for pesticide metabolites. According to the regulations, the fewer the inhabitants and the water supplied, the less there is of tests. So the journalists decided to take five samples themselves in five municipalities in Hauts-de-France, which were not tested in 2021.
They worked for this with an approved laboratory for the sanitary control of water. For each sample, the journalists scrupulously followed the protocol that had been indicated to them. “Now that you have come to see me, it is true that we are going to ask ourselves the question: is there really no risk?“, asks a woman whose water has been tested. Results : out of five municipalities tested, three have normal analyses, but two reveal the presence of excess pesticide metabolites.
