(Montreal) People met on Saturday morning at Jarry Park in Montreal to show their support for opponents of health measures who have been occupying the area around Parliament Hill in Ottawa for two weeks.

The group’s Facebook page, titled “Occupy Ottawa 24/7,” advertises a march through residential streets with Jarry Park as the return point, where there will be speeches.
Maxime Bernier, leader of the People’s Party of Canada, notably announces his presence at Jarry Park in Montreal, in “support for the Freedom Convoy”.
He also plans to travel to Ottawa on Sunday to support truckers there at a pancake breakfast on Wellington Street near the statue of Terry Fox.
Moreover, the opponents of the sanitary measures who will gather in Montreal must witness the departure of a “mega convoy to Ottawa”.
According to the organizers of the event, convoys linked to Keven Bilodeau in Beauce and other convoys from Sherbrooke, Magog, Granby and Lac-Mégantic will first converge on Montreal.
They then promise “a historic convoy”.
Meanwhile, a counter-demonstration opposed to the “convoy to Ottawa” is organized in Jarry Park also, Saturday morning, in Montreal.
The organizers of this counter-demonstration invite people to show up with “signs against racism, the far right and conspiracy theorists”.
They say they oppose the convoy because they “are made up of well-known far-right figures, including white supremacists, anti-immigration activists, anti-Indigenous activists and Islamophobes. Some people involved were or are members of groups like La Meute, ”they specify.
The organizers of this counter-demonstration find it “inexcusable” that people opposed to vaccination obligations or confinements “choose to express their opinions side by side with people known to the far right, including conspiracy theorists who convey denied information” .
