Dressed in a flamboyant red suit, Rihanna launched her performance in the most spectacular way, descending from the sky, perched on a platform several meters above the ground, to the sound of Bitch Better Have My Money.

Near her, in the void, dancers performed on other platforms, forming an impressive aerial pop ballet.

Very quickly, attention focused on the plump belly of the star, a sign, according to many, that Rihanna, who gave birth to her first child in May 2022, would be pregnant again.

A hand on her stomach later in her performance further inflamed the web.

The official confirmation came at the end of the evening. One of its representatives confirmed to HollywoodReporter that Rihanna’s family and her lover, rapper A$AP Rocky, would soon be growing.

Missing guests

That said, back to the concert. While the packaging was breathtaking, the contents didn’t quite live up to expectations.

The first minutes were however as thrilling as the first half between the Chiefs and the Eagles. By selecting danceable pieces, such as the very apropos Where Have You Been as well as We Found LoveRihanna gave a good rhythm to her performance and was able to exploit the army of dancers at her disposal.

The show, however, experienced a slump during the portion where she continued without much conviction Work, For It Up And All of the Lights.

It was at this time that the absence of special guests made itself felt. The arrival of another star would possibly have allowed his performance to maintain its momentum.

Fortunately, the final redeemed this odd. After a segment ofumbrella, she returned to her platform. This time alone in the middle of the illuminated stadium to the tune of Diamonds, Rihanna closed her concert by singing “we are like diamonds in the sky”.

It was splendid.

Touching Chris Stapleton

Chris Stapleton was able to pull out of the game, even before the kickoff.

For his part, country singer Chris Stapleton did not miss his shot. His simple, heartfelt rendition of the American national anthem, the Star Spangled Banner, moved many people, especially Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. The camera caught him crying his heart out, an image that will certainly be seen for a long time.

Alongside Stapleton, actor Troy Kotsur, the second deaf person in history to win an Oscar, performed the national anthem in sign language, as is customary at the Super Bowl.

His moment at the microphone marked the spirits more than the uninspired interpretation, a few moments earlier, of the other national anthem, America The Beautiful, by R&B star BabyFace.
