Maple Leafs beat Wild in Sweden

William Nylander scored 3:09 into overtime and the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Minnesota Wild 4-3 on Sunday in Sweden.

The Torontonians let a 3-1 lead slip away in the third period, but they still managed to sign a fourth consecutive victory.

Nylander, the local star during this series of matches in Sweden, distanced himself from Marcus Johansson and beat Marc-André Fleury for his 12e goal of the campaign.

Nylander also collected an assist in regulation time to extend his streak of games with at least one point to 17 to start a season. This is a team record.

Morgan Rielly added a goal and two assists for the Maple Leafs. Auston Matthews scored a goal and set up another while Matthew Knies completed the scoring for the Toronto team.

Mitch Marner set up two Maple Leafs goals, becoming the fastest player in team history to reach 400 career assists. Joseph Woll stopped 33 pucks in the victory.

Mats Zuccarello, who added an assist, Jon Merrill and Jake Middleton threaded the needle for the Wild. Fleury made 21 saves. The Minnesota team suffered a fifth loss in a row.

The Maple Leafs erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to defeat the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 on Friday in Stockholm.
