Sunday in the NHL | Tkachuk scores a 15th goal and the Senators win against Washington

Senators beat Capitals 4-1

Brady Tkachuk donned a 15and goal and the Ottawa Senators prevailed 4-1 at the expense of the Washington Capitals on Sunday.

Tkachuk took advantage of a loose puck in net after a Josh Brown shot late in the second period. Ottawa then took a 3-1 lead.

Alex Formenton, Adam Gaudette and Connor Brown scored the other goals for the Senators, who had lost their last two games.

Formenton’s goal came with his men short of a man. He scored a third such goal this season, tied for third in the league in this regard.

Anton Forsberg made 33 saves. Nicklas Backstrom beat him on the power play.

The Senators will play again Tuesday at home against St. Louis.
