Rangers shut out Lightning 4-0
Mika Zibanejad had a hat trick and the New York Rangers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-0 on Sunday.
Zibanejad completed the treble in the middle period, after two power play goals in the first twenty. Chris Kreider has been complicit in each of his goals.
Zibanejad first hit the mark with a wrist shot from the right circle at 7:44 in the first period.
The 28-year-old Swede continued in the middle of the period, hitting the target the same way, from the same place.
Ryan Strome added to the lead and then in the second period Zibanejad made it 4-0 by redirecting a short pass from Kreider, Zibanejad is now within eight career hat tricks.
Igor Shesterkin blocked 38 shots, earning his second shutout of the season.
Andrei Vasilevskiy made 17 saves. Vasilevskiy and Anthony Cirelli returned to the game after some time away, in connection with NHL protocol during the pandemic.
Before the meeting, New York announced that Artemi Panarin is on the sidelines, also in relation to the protocol put in place by the circuit.

Bruins win 5-1 over Red Wings
Patrice Bergeron scored an 11e Net and the Boston Bruins beat the Detroit Red Wings 5-1 on Sunday.
Bergeron’s goal created a tie in the first twenty.
Bergeron converted a Craig Smith throw-in from behind the net from the enclave.
The L’Ancienne-Lorette native has scored three goals in five games against Detroit this season.
Erik Haula broke the deadlock in the middle period, ahead of goals from Charlie McAvoy, Trent Frederick and Tomas Nosek.
Jeremy Swayman made 23 saves for the Bruins. They also won Saturday, 4-3 in overtime at home, against Buffalo.
Tyler Bertuzzi was the goalscorer for the Wings and Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 32 shots.
