David Perron scored a double on the power play, scoring his 300 in the processe career goal, and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Minnesota Wild 4-1 on Sunday.
Dylan Larkin had a goal and an assist for the Red Wings, who won their third straight game. Shayne Gostisbehere scored into an empty net and had two assists, while Alex Lyon stopped 37 pucks in his third straight start.
Joel Eriksson Ek lit the red light on the power play for the Wild, who have lost seven games in a row. The club is 0-5-2 in this stretch.
Filip Gustavsson made 19 saves.
With Alex Goligoski in the penalty box for a stick hit, Perron found the back of the net 4:06 into the first period. He made a shot from the left circle after accepting a pass from Lucas Raymond.
The Wild tied the game with 11.3 seconds left in the first period when Eriksson Ek redirected a shot from Kirill Kaprizov.
Larkin scored with 3:07 left in the second. Gustavsson made a pad save on his initial shot, but the Red Wings captain collected the rebound to beat the goalie.
The 300e Perron’s goal came at 1:29 of the third while Pat Maroon was penalized. The Quebecer scored 17 goals in 48 games against the Wild.
The Red Wings are 11-0-2 this season when scoring four or more goals.

Blues win 4-2 against the Blackhawks

Jake Neighbors, Pavel Buchnevich and Kevin Hayes scored in the first period for the St. Louis Blues, who beat the Blackhawks 4-2 on Sunday in Chicago.
Neighbors added another goal in the third period. Jordan Binnington blocked 32 shots in the victory.
The Blackhawks have lost six of their last seven meetings. The team is still trying to win two games in a row this season.
Ryan Donato and Boris Katchouk scored for the Blackhawks, while Arvid Soderblom made 24 saves.
The Blues took advantage of the opponent’s slow start to the match. Neighbors rushed alone against the goalie, before going for a backhand shot that beat the latter at 3:21 of play in the first period. Neighbors’ sixth goal of the season was also their fourth in five games.
Just over two minutes later, Hayes beat Soderblom over the right shoulder.
After Donato’s goal cut the lead to 2-1, Buchnevich scored on the power play for the Blues with 2:58 left in the first period.
The Blackhawks worked hard in the first half of the third period, but were unable to score. Neighbors then scored their second goal of the game, with 6:08 remaining in regulation.

Andrei Svechnikov concludes the comeback of the Hurricanes, who defeat the Blue Jackets 3-2

Andrei Svechnikov scored with 1:55 remaining in the third period, capping a two-goal comeback by the Carolina Hurricanes that resulted in a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.
Svechnikov’s goal was the Hurricanes’ third in a span of 8:04. Former Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Brady Skjei scored before Svechnikov, who also had an assist.
After two scoreless periods, the Jackets opened the scoring just 13 seconds into the third, courtesy of Kirill Marchenko. Johnny Gaudreau scored the visitors’ other goal.
Pyotr Kochetkov made 21 saves. He got a third start in four games in front of the Hurricanes cage, while Frederik Andersen is dealing with blood clotting problems.
At the other end of the ice, Elvis Merzlikins faced 43 pucks.
The Blue Jackets will host the Boston Bruins on Monday. The next day, the Hurricanes will be in Philadelphia to face the Flyers.

Josi scores a goal and two assists to help the Predators beat the Jets 3-2

Roman Josi scored a goal and two assists in a 3-2 win for the Nashville Predators against the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday.
The Predators won a fifth straight game, while the Jets lost for the first time in six games.
Yakov Trenin and Gustav Nyquist also scored and goalie Juuse Saros stopped 33 pucks.
Josh Morrissey and Cole Perfetti scored for the Jets. Laurent Brossoit blocked 24 shots.
Trenin opened the scoring with 19.4 seconds left in the first period.
Trenin had not collected a point for the Predators in his team’s last 13 games
Nyquist scored on the power play at 6:22 of the second period, on a nice pass from Filip Forsberg and Josi.
Nyquist thus extended his point streak to eight games, collecting two goals and eight assists during this sequence.
