Jets win 5-2 over Ducks

Morgan Barron and Mark Scheifele scored two quick goals late in the third period to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 5-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday.

The two teams were tied 2-2 when Barron hit the target at 13:23. Scheifele followed with his 13e campaign goal, less than two minutes later.

Saku Maenalanen and Nate Schmidt each had a goal and an assist for the Jets. Dylan Samberg scored his first NHL goal as Kyle Connor added two assists.

Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves for the Manitoba squad, which will complete its four-game home stint by hosting the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.

Jakob Silfverberg and Brett Leason replied for the Ducks, who have not won in their last six outings (0-4-2).

Frédérick Gaudreau scored the Wild’s third goal in the shootout as the Minnesota team beat the Dallas Stars 6-5 on Sunday.

Mats Zuccarello and Kirill Kaprizov also scored in the shootout for the Wild, which extended their winning streak to four.

Kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek, Connor Dewar, Jake Middleton and Jordan Greenway found the back of the net in regulation time for the Wild, who blew a 5-1 lead in the third period.

Marc-André Fleury saved 30 pucks in the victory.

Roope Hintz recorded the second hat trick of his career and had at least one point in 10 of his last 11 games. Jason Robertson and Mason Marchment also flashed the red light for the Stars.

Robertson and Joe Pavelski, who had three assists in the game, beat Fleury in the shootout, but Hintz’s backhand shot didn’t cross the red line.

Jake Oettinger allowed four goals on 16 shots. In relief, Wedgewood blocked 14 shots.
