Sunday in the NFL | The Browns surprise the 49ers

Read the reports from Sunday’s NFL games.

Rookie Jake Moody missed a 41-yard field goal with six seconds left and the 49ers of San Francisco were surprised 19-17 by the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The 49’s winning streakers regular season ended at 15, and quarterback Brock Purdy lost his first NFL game as starting quarterback.

Dustin Hopkins made four field goals for the Browns (3-2), including his last with 1:40 left in the game.

The Browns pulled off the biggest upset of the season so far without quarterback Deshaun Watson. The latter missed a second game in a row with a right shoulder injury.

The 49ers started the game looking like an almost unbeatable team, having defeated the Dallas Cowboys 42-10 at home the previous week.

The Browns’ defensive brigade, however, was there. In addition, the 49ers did not have Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuel in the lineup, with both injured.

P. J. Walker, coming off the Browns’ practice squad, got the better of Purdy. Walker completed 18 of 34 passes for 192 yards and two interceptions.

A quarter of the 49ers was the victim of his first interception of the season and finished the game with only 125 yards.

Purdy, 23, had won his first 10 NFL games. He almost managed to lead his team to a comeback on Sunday, but Moody missed his punt late in the game.

Purdy completed 12 of his 27 pass attempts.

A quarter of the 49ers lacked timing for the majority of the match. Purdy still made some good plays in the game. He also spotted Jauan Jennings more than once in the match.

Abroad for the first time in four weeks, tension has arisen between the 49ers and the Browns about thirty minutes before kickoff.

During warm-ups, a few players exchanged words, and Trent Williams pushed Elijah Moore and knocked him off his helmet.
