“We will be the big surprise of this second round”, assures Friday, June 17 on franceinfo Laurent Jacobelli, spokesperson for the National Rally (RN) and candidate in the 8th constituency of Moselle. According to him, the RN is the party that has made the most progress since the 2017 legislative elections, claiming to have won 1.3 million voters, “while the others have stagnated or even retreated”. “Sunday evening, many National Rally deputies will be elected”he predicts, highlighting a campaign “without small shenanigans like between Mr. Macron and Mr. Mélenchon”.

For the second round of the legislative elections, which will take place this Sunday, June 19, the RN is in the running in 208 constituencies. “We came out on top in over a hundred constituencies, so they’re takeable. We want the biggest group possible”, explains the spokesperson for the RN. He also refuses to grant more ambition to Nupes and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who are targeting Matignon. “We didn’t want to campaign for swagger and lies like Mr Mélenchon did. He will never be Prime Minister, he will probably even be retired on Sunday evening”he said, recalling that the leader of Nupes is not a candidate for re-election as a deputy for Bouches-du-Rhône.

According to Laurent Jacobelli, Nupes has no future and “will explode in full flight Sunday evening at 8:01 p.m., everyone will take their marbles and create their own group in their corner”dividing up the National Assembly and making the RN “the main opposition group”. “We will therefore have weight and we will therefore be able to try to impose our views: we will be very clear, each time a bill will allow the French to live better in their country, in safety, to live from their work, we will vote for”he concluded.
