Beautiful sunny weather will lift the mercury this week with peaks of 31 degrees expected Friday in southern Quebec.
The week begins with fine weather throughout the province, while summer temperatures will easily exceed 20 degrees in most regions of Quebec, with the exception of certain eastern sectors such as the Côte-Nord and the Gaspesie.
From Gatineau to Sherbrooke, via Montreal and the entire St. Lawrence River valley, we expect sunshine and a mercury that will rise crescendo until it exceeds the psychological threshold of 31 degrees on Friday, according to Environment Canada.
In Quebec and Beauce, practically the same weather scenario is forecast with perhaps less intense temperatures, while in the areas a little further north some clouds will appear.
In the east of the province, temperatures will be slightly below normal for the season, before starting to rise again on Tuesday, when the sun will be jostled by passing clouds by the weekend, according to forecasts from the federal agency.
