“Summer is looking very good”, according to the director of Les Flots Bleus campsite, devastated by the fire last year

“Summer is looking very good”, declared Thursday May 18 on franceinfo Franck Couderc, director of the campsite “Les Flots Bleus”, immortalized by the films “Camping” and which had been ravaged by the flames of the fire of La Teste-de-Buch (Gironde) during summer 2022.

“We reopened again on April 3 a first part of the campsite and there we have just reopened a second part”explains the owner of the campsite. “The day after the fire, we decided to relaunch the campsite”, explain Frank Couderc. “We were lucky enough to keep three main buildings, the restaurant, the grocery store and the toilets. We didn’t have to wait for building permits.”

Regarding the improvements to the campsite, in the event of a new forest fire, the manager specifies that “with the firefighters, we decided to open an additional emergency exit and we added fire stations”. He adds that with his team, they will be “even more vigilant than we have been and we are waiting for people’s common sense”he continues, before qualifying as “very good” the law prohibiting smoking in forests during periods of risk of fires, adopted this Wednesday evening at the National Assembly.
