The former CEO of the CISSS de Chaudière-Appalaches, Daniel Paré, who successfully carried out the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in Quebec, now inherits a position of associate deputy minister in the Direction générale de la gestion executif et operational from the pandemic. He had been its general manager since December 2020. The Council of Ministers appointed him on Wednesday.

“I am happy that we can welcome Mr. Paré in this capacity. Several challenges await us in the coming months, and Mr. Paré undoubtedly has the skills and expertise required to meet this new challenge. I would also like to thank him for the exceptional work accomplished since his arrival at the Ministry of Health and Social Services,” said Minister of Health Christian Dubé.

Holder of a bachelor’s degree in administration, a master’s degree in business administration and a graduate certificate in health management from the Université de Moncton, Daniel Paré has “solid management experience” in the health, argued the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MSSS) in a statement released Wednesday.

Daniel Paré had replaced at short notice Jérôme Gagnon, Deputy Director General for State Security at the Ministry of Public Security, who had to leave for health reasons just before the start of the vaccination campaign. After the vaccination, Mr. Paré was notably responsible for the supply and deployment of rapid screening tests in Quebec.
