Back on the music scene after a long break that lasted six years, Stromae has also set out to reconnect with its audience through a concert tour throughout Europe. Unfortunately, the famous Belgian singer is now forced to put his “Multitude Tour” on hold, for medical reasons.
“I have to resign myself to the fact that my health unfortunately does not allow me to continue coming to meet you for the moment. I share this news with you with great sadness. But I have to listen to my limits…” a declared the interpreter of the tube “Papaoutai” this Tuesday April 4, 2023, in a press release relayed on social networks. If he had to meet his fans everywhere in France but also in London, Rome and Amsterdam, Stromae is finally back in his native Belgium in order to heal and rest, most certainly supported by his wife, the stylist Coralie Barber.

Stromae again “sick”: his relatives come out of the silence
The day after this disturbing announcement, the singer’s relatives broke the silence. “We saw nothing coming” confessed, on condition of anonymity, a member of Auguri Productions, the team responsible for supervising his tour in the columns of Parisian this Thursday, April 5. Indeed, if Stromae had canceled six dates recently, he seemed to be back on his feet and in great shape when he went on stage in Bordeaux on March 4 and 5. “It went really well. He stayed a week with us in residence to prepare for the resumption of his concerts. If there had been the slightest problem, I would have known about it” assured David Moison, the director of the room, very cheerful by the performance of the singer.
Stromae would have fallen back into depression? In any case, this is what our colleagues from Parisian think, not failing to recall that in 2015, Stromae had retired from the scene. Overworked after having chained performances for years, the singer had then fallen into a serious depression accentuated by the side effects of Lariam, a preventive anti-malaria treatment taken before his departure for Africa. Months later, the father of a little boy said he had “suicidal thoughts” during this sad period.
As highlighted in “Le Parisien”, Stromae has already signed nearly fifty dates including twenty summer festivals since the launch of the “Multitude Tour” a year ago. He would therefore surely have decided this time not to pull too much on the rope so as not to relive a dramatic episode. If all goes well, Stromae should resume its European tour in Brussels on June 3, before continuing on two evenings at La Défense Arena, the largest concert hall in Europe, in Paris, on June 16 and 17.
