Finding student accommodation is difficult in large cities. Whether in a university residence or in a private park, the market is saturated. Two weeks before the start of the school year, the race for housing is more relevant than ever.
As the start of the new school year is fast approaching, Justine lamp actively looking for accommodation at Rouen (Seine Maritime). She has been looking for a month now, without success so far. Peverywhere in France, the task is complicated. “There aren’t that many offers. I hope for this one it will work“, declares the student in license of management control. It is still necessary that the owner accepts his file.
“Today, it is true that the demand is so strong that the faster it is rented, the better it is for him [le propriétaire]”explains Allison Beaugrandreal estate agent. In a residence in Montpellier (Herault), no accommodation is free. Many guarantees are required. “I found myself with students who had parents with them so, inevitably, the person who rents their accommodation, they favor the person who has their parents with them“, reports Fayrouz, a finance student.
