In the heart of Paris, a queue stretches for several hundred meters. Students come for food aid: “We can eat, but not really enough, once a day but not three times”, says a young woman. Others are looking for more varied products, which they cannot afford by shopping.

50 euros of remainder to live per month

Inside, the 25 volunteers have two tons of food to distribute in two hours. Organic fruit and vegetables, ready meals, unsold food and surplus food… For three years, this distribution has been full. According to Alexandre Pe, coordinator of the Linkee association, “A year ago we helped 400 people, with the start of the school year and inflation it increased.” This evening, nearly 800 students leave with a full bag and a smile on their face. According to the Linkee association, two-thirds of students have 50 euros left to live per month for food or treatment.
