Doctors and psychologists were dispatched, Saturday March 16, to the Édouard Herriot college in Chenôve (Côte-d’Or), to respond to young people and teachers still in shock. Friday March 15, a third grade student, excluded, tried to return to class. Once in the principal’s office, he handed the head of the school a letter and threatened her with a kitchen knife.

The mayor of Chenôve underlined the composure and courage of the principal, who triggered the confinement protocol before fleeing to her office.

An investigation has been opened

Teachers locked themselves in class with their students. Police officers patrolling the area quickly intervened and arrested the young man with a knife. The college students at the establishment have since been in shock. In the confused letter that the schoolboy gave to the principal of the school, he mentions the Paris attacks of 2015 and speaks of hostage taking. This threat has rekindled teachers’ concerns.
