Pupils from French Polynesia returned to school on Tuesday 9 August. Reportage.

Back-to-school time has already come for some French people. Tuesday, August 9, high school students returned to school in French Polynesia. This Wednesday, August 10, it is the turn of the youngest. A return to school without a mask and without health restrictions, a first for two years. “It already feels good not to wear a mask anymore. But you still have to remain vigilant and keep barrier gestures,” said a high school student.

On site, the start of the school year was staggered to better manage the flow of students. The health rules, although relaxed, have not completely disappeared. “Despite everything, we maintained basic precautions and we kept gel dispensers scattered throughout the establishment”, explains Jean-Pascal Vins, headmaster of the school.
