Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, Mexico… All over the world, students are mobilizing to demand a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Calls for peace also present in France, Saturday May 4.
In Berlin (Germany), German police evacuated several demonstrators from Humboldt University, while around 300 people had gathered to express their support for the Palestinians in Gaza. Same fervor in London (United Kingdom), where dozens of students demonstrated peacefully on the main campus of University College London. Across the Atlantic, in Mexico City (Mexico), dozens of pro-Palestinian students from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the largest in the country, set up camp.
Massive mobilizations in Canada
In Canada, the movement has taken root in several cities, including Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal. The first and largest camp, set up at the prestigious McGill University in Montreal, began on April 27. Hundreds of demonstrators have fortified their camp in recent days due to the threat of dismantling by the police.
