Since Wednesday April 13, several hundred students have occupied the Sorbonne University in Paris to protest against the results of the first round of the presidential election. If the blockage was lifted Thursday evening, other rallies are planned in the coming days, in Paris and in the regions.

The last students who occupied the Sorbonne (Paris) left the university a little before midnight, Thursday April 14, after 30 hours of blockage. In the afternoon, outside the building, a violent confrontation opposed demonstrators and police. The students, dissatisfied with the results of the first round of the presidential election, want to make their voices heard. “A real movement of students, of the masses, who are here today to oppose their anger to the Macron-Lepen results”describes Éliot Dubus, from FFE Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Other students also expressed their dissatisfaction from Sciences-Po Paris, as well as in Reims (Marne), where around a hundred of them gathered to protest against the far right. Mobilization could expand. Other student gatherings are planned in Paris on the afternoon of Friday April 15, as well as in the regions in the coming days.
