Finished the dilapidated premises of the campus of the hospital center of Haut-Anjou! Since January, students from the Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne nursing assistant training institute have been continuing their learning in new premises at the Robert Schuman vocational school.
“The floors, walls, ceilings and lighting have been completely redone to accommodate them.“, explains Lionel Bateli, director of IFAS and director of care at the Haut-Anjou hospital center. Students now learn in two practical work rooms, with all the equipment needed to train including mannequins installed in medical beds. Nothing to do with what they had in their old establishment. “We had much smaller premises. It was less easy to workremembers Stella, one of the 38 students. The premises were older and the equipment more limited because we really lacked space.” The plus: a new computer room. “Recentsays Lydia. With many individual workstations, which wasn’t the case before, we had a little trouble getting Internet access so it was a bit complicated.“
The advantage of this new installation is also the visibility it brings to the training of caregivers, a profession that is sorely lacking in manpower, adds Lionel Bateli, director of IFAS. “We increasingly need human services, with a gradation in the necessary skills. We have more and more patients and residents to take care of and we need more and more professionals to be able to be with residents and patients. Mayenne is a rather rural department. We have training courses that have a local offer with a lot of employees nearby. So there, there is the embarrassment of the choice compared to our needs. I can guarantee each graduate the certainty of having a job at the end of his training.“
