(Montreal) Bad weather conditions cause a lot of headaches for Hydro-Quebec.
As of 5:31 p.m., the state-owned company said strong winds had caused 191 outages nationwide. It also reported that 51,913 customers were without power at the end of the afternoon.
The situation seemed to get worse every quarter of an hour.
Montérégie and the Laurentians were the regions hardest hit by these power outages. Hydro-Québec recorded 56 outages affecting 22,033 customers in Montérégie and 42 outages affecting 11,163 customers in the Laurentians.
There were 27 outages affecting 6,885 customers on the island of Montreal. In Lanaudière, 6,095 customers were affected by 13 outages. In the Outaouais, the number of outages amounted to 34 affecting 2,819 customers.
Hydro-Québec added on its Twitter account that its teams are at work trying to restore power.
