Thursday, April 7, in a neighborhood of Tel Aviv (Israel), a Palestinian assailant opened fire on a terrace, killing three people. This is the fourth attack since March 22. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced that the army had carte blanche to “defeat terror”.

It is a time of emotion and meditation for the inhabitants of Tel-Aviv (Israel) at the site of the deadly attack on Thursday 7 April. Three people died and ten were injured. Since March 22, this is the fourth time that Israelis have been targeted by a terrorist act. “It’s an attack that made us very scared and quite traumatic for all the people around us. People in the street are sad and it’s quite hard”, says a passerby. Thursday evening, scenes of chaos in this very lively district of the city center, a man has just opened fire on customers sitting on the terrace of a restaurant. The shooter, a Palestinian from the West Bank, was identified through CCTV cameras. He was shot dead by law enforcement a few hours later in the city of Jaffa.

Israeli authorities have since tightened security in all countries. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett pledged to go further: “There are and will be no limits to this war. We grant total freedom of action to the army and all security forces in order to defeat terror”. An attack hailed by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Several rallies took place in the Gaza Strip. As for the peace process, it is still deadlocked.
