After a knife attack on Thursday April 18 in Alsace, some surrounding colleges were confined as a security measure. In one of them, a schoolgirl died following illness.
In Souffelweyersheim (Bas-Rhin), the emotion is immense, Friday April 19, after the death of a 14-year-old student. The day before, she had suffered a cardiac arrest when the schoolchildren had to confine themselves due to a knife attack on two young girls near a neighboring school. The two girls who were attacked were released from the hospital and are slightly injured. One of them was attacked in front of a primary school, in front of some children.
No signs of radicalization
Thursday, shortly before 2 p.m., the man attacked a little girl in front of the school, then another near a park. He was arrested and taken into police custody. Born in 1994, he presents psychiatric disorders, but no element of radicalization. Security forces were present in front of the school on Friday, and a psychological support unit was set up for the children. The motivations of the suspect, who highlighted his state of mental health, remain unknown.
