Five years after their stroke, Élise and Louis set themselves the goal of cycling around Lake Geneva. The couple met on a website dedicated to stroke survivors.

Five years ago, Élise and Louis escaped a stroke. Today, they are a couple and have settled in the region of their dreams. Élise and Louis met on a website dedicated to stroke survivors. When settling into their new home, the boxes filled with memories echo their life before, like the pair of shoes Élise was wearing during her accident. After her stroke, Élise lost her left side. Louis his right side and speech. But all that is retro.

As if to mark the start of a new life, the couple set themselves a challenge: to cycle around Lake Geneva, even though they have not been on a bicycle since their accident. Throughout the 200 kilometers around the body of water, Élise and Louis are accompanied by volunteers as well as other companions wishing to take up the challenge. Louis is proud of the road traveled: “We managed to bounce back”. But Élise is even more so: “Our life is better now than before.”
