strikes threaten the first day of the baccalaureate specialty exams

What there is to know

The 2023 baccalaureate begins in the midst of social turbulence. Terminale students work from Monday March 20 on the written specialty tests, which are held for the first time in March, against the backdrop of threats of strikes by supervisors launched by several unions against the pension reform. These tests, born of the baccalaureate reform of 2019, take place from 2 p.m., then Tuesday and Wednesday, and next week for Reunion. Follow our live.

Quit or double. The two motions of censure against the government of Elisabeth Borne will be put to the vote of the National Assembly on Monday March 20. The pension reform could thus be adopted definitively, despite the anger in the country which does not weaken.

The protests continue. Since Thursday and the triggering of the constitutional weapon of 49.3, organized or spontaneous gatherings have been taking place throughout the territory, calmly or with excesses.

Emmanuel Macron has spoken. The Head of State wants the reform “can go to the end of his democratic journey with respect for all”, the Elysee Palace announced to AFP on Sunday March 19. The President recalled the “month of political and social consultations” and the “more than 170 hours of debate which resulted in the vote on a compromise text” between senators and deputies in a mixed committee.
