Strike of 500 Héma-Québec workers Monday and Tuesday

The CSN announces that the 500 workers of the five Unions united Héma-Québec will be on strike Monday and Tuesday.

The Federation of Health and Social Services (FSSS-CSN) adds that workers will be present in front of the Bell Center in Montreal on Monday from 8 a.m. on the occasion of the 40e Montreal Canadiens annual blood drive, scheduled to run until early evening.

Workers want to educate donors about what they call their employer’s bad faith and stalled negotiations.

The five Unions united Héma-Québec sent strike notices to the Administrative Labor Tribunal, the Minister of Labor and Héma-Québec on October 27.

Simon Poulin, president of the Syndicate of laboratory technicians of Héma-Québec and spokesperson for the Unions united, recalls that the last salary increase for the agency’s employees dates back to April 1, 2018 and that it was obtained after 42 months. negotiation.

The goal of the Montreal Canadiens fundraiser is to welcome 500 donors.

Former Canadiens players, including Patrice Brisebois, Yvan Cournoyer, Gaston Gingras and Réjean Houle must be on site, as must artists Florence K and Luc Langevin.
