The CGT has filed strike notices in the three branches of the civil service, running from April 15 to September 15, the union announced Wednesday April 10. These notices will therefore cover the period of the Olympic (July 26-August 11) and Paralympic (August 28-September 8) Games in Paris.
The CGT had already announced its intention to call a strike during the Olympics. “The government must take stock of the social challenge of the Games and make appropriate decisions.“, alerted the general secretary of the CGT, Sophie Binet, on franceinfo at the beginning of March.
In a press release on Wednesday, the civil service branch of the CGT, the sector’s leading union, requests in particular “long-term recruitment, salary compensation for professional constraints generated by the Games (…), rights to leave, chosen teleworking and disconnection”.
