The Federation of Private Education Personnel (FPEP-CSQ) gave $80,000 to the Centrale des syndicats du Québec, to which it is affiliated, in order to support public teachers who are members of the Common Front.

They have been on strike for 11 days since the beginning of November. Teachers who are members of the CSQ are not part of the unlimited general strike decreed by the other major union organization, the Autonomous Education Federation.

“Our contribution is a message of solidarity and support for the fight that colleagues are waging to put a stop to the deterioration of working and practice conditions in the education sector,” said the president of the FPEP in a press release. -CSQ, Stéphane Lapointe.

The CSQ, it is explained, will be able to redistribute the amount in the form of gift cards to its members of the school and college network.
