The Federation of Health and Social Services (FSSS), affiliated to the CSN, began its mandate of indefinite strike on Wednesday morning in the childcare centers where it is present.

The Federation of Early Childhood Workers (FIPEQ), affiliated with the CSQ, has an indefinite strike mandate, but has chosen not to exercise it until at least next week. She is back at the bargaining table today.

As for the Quebec Service Employees Union (SQEES), affiliated with the FTQ, it announced Wednesday that its members also had just given themselves an indefinite strike mandate. He has not yet set a date for the start of his strike.

The main issue now is the salary that must be paid to support employees in the childcare centers. Quebec offers 6 to 9.3%, depending on the job title.

The FIPEQ is asking for a 13.6% to 14.8% increase for these support employees. The FSSS did not want to disclose its requests for these employees, but assured that they were lower than those requested for educators.
