Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ate at a pub in Prince Edward Island 10 days ago.

The Lone Oak pub posted photos of the visit on its Facebook page. He received many hateful, vulgar and misogynistic messages that targeted his employees. Anti-sanitary measures activists had fun lowering the restaurant’s satisfaction rating on Facebook (they obviously never set foot there). On Saturday, we vandalized the delivery car.
We have come to this: when a democratically elected Prime Minister arrives in a pub, a small minority of radicals intimidates the trade, which is obliged to call the police to ensure the safety of its employees. We swim here in delirium.
You may or may not like Justin Trudeau. That is not the question. But we live in a democracy, in a society of law where respectful debates are welcome. Not in a society where disagreement leads to bullying and harassment.
The saddest thing is that we seem to be getting used to this atmosphere of intimidation on the part of radical opponents of any health measure. So much so that none of the other federal leaders (or aspiring Conservative leaders) saw fit to condemn the disgraceful actions against the Lone Oak. Their silence is as deplorable as it is worrying for the future.
