Come on, then! Do you believe in this propaganda campaign according to which everything is going very well Madame la Marquise for the former tennis champion Peng Shuai?

A (failed) public relations operation was orchestrated by the Chinese regime to convince us of this. We expected it. It’s as subtle as a button right in the middle of the forehead. But to see this plot endorsed by the International Olympic Committee… what indecency!

Following a virtual interview between its president, Thomas Bach, and Peng Shuai, the mystery would be solved. She “prefers to spend time with her family and friends at the moment.” But who would be gullible enough to think that the case is closed, that the Chinese athlete is safe, and that his allegations of sexual assault against a former Communist Party leader will be diligently investigated?

Dear Thomas Bach, have you forgotten the motto of the Games: faster, higher, stronger? We would swear. You are flat on your stomach!

Message to the Canadian government: Please do not follow this example.

Besides, why haven’t we already announced that the new Minister of Sports, Pascale St-Onge, will not be going to Beijing?

To protest against the various abuses of the Chinese regime – for which Canada itself paid the price, let us think of the imprisonment of the two Michael – a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Games is the strict minimum acceptable.
