This is thought to have to do with El Niño changing the dynamics of the atmosphere.”, explains Fabio D’Andrea, climatologist at the Pierre-Simon Laplace Institute. Nearly 400 tornadoes were observed in the United States in April 2024, a record that had not been reached in 13 years.
