Storms, buried cars and landslides in the Tinée Valley

Two landslides on the Bonnette road (d64) which leads to Jauzier occurred this Sunday at the end of the day. They are the consequence of violent storms which hit the top of the Tinée valley. Three cars parked near the road were partially buried. The firefighters and the gendarmerie who arrived quickly on the spot were able to clear the vehicles which were all empty. Hikers and people who were at the Vens refuge are all safe and sound. The road is only partially blocked. However, the landslides do not prevent access to the village of Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage, contrary to what was said earlier in the evening. It is much higher towards the pass then Jauzier that the blockage is still effective this Sunday evening. But sleep and already, the road in places has been cleared. The most worrying is this type thunderstorms which, coupled with the drought, immediately caused landslides. A real concern for the whole department.
