Sunday, February 26, the general practitioners of MG France, the majority union, unanimously refused the proposals of Health Insurance. More than ever, they are calling for a real increase in consultation. “The consultation has not been upgraded since at least 2017”says a doctor. “It’s not a story of income, it’s a story of financial means, of financial leverage, to be able to hire people and take care of the patients who need it most”assures another.

After weeks of negotiations, Health Insurance proposes to increase from 25 to 26.5 € for a consultationand up to €30 if the doctor agrees to take on new patients or do more on-call duty. “It is quite normal for Health Insurance to ask for compensation”, says Thomas Fatôme, Director General of the National Health Insurance Fund. Inconceivable for practitioners who demand a consultation at 30 or even 50 €, but without compensation. The showdown with Health Insurance will continue.
