Storm Domingos approaches France, Météo-France expects gusts of up to 130 km/h overnight

The storms follow one another. While storm Ciaran, which caused widespread damage in France and Europe, France will be hit on Saturday November 4 by storm Domingos. According to Météo-France, Domingos is currently located “off the coast of Ireland”, and should particularly affect the western facade of France. The storm is expected to be less severe than Ciaran, with many homes still without power. The institute estimates in its vigilance bulletin that the gusts could reach 100 km/h to 130 km/h on the side and up to 120 km/h inland. Follow our live stream.

Eleven departments placed on orange alert for “wind”, “floods”, “rain-flood” or “waves-submersion” this evening. Part of the Atlantic coast, from Vendée to Gironde, Corsica, Var and Bouches-du-Rhône, is affected according to Météo-France. Pas-de-Calais remains on “flood” alert after the passage of Ciaran. Twelve departments will be placed on orange vigilance on Sunday November 5.

At least 16 people killed by Ciaran in Europe. Six people were killed by the storm in Italy. In Portugal, it was the strong swell caused by Ciaran on the Atlantic Ocean which caused the death of three people in the sinking of a sailboat flying the Danish flag. The Netherlands was also particularly affected by the meteorological phenomenon. In France, at least two people have died.
