Fürstenberger Hof Local History Museum
The life of the peasants of the Black Forest.
The Fürstenberger Hof, a proud witness to the past, with its imposing thatched roof, is located on the banks of the Harmersbach in the romantic Kurgarten. This 350-year-old farm gives an impression of the life of Black Forest farmers over the past three centuries.
It’s as if the farmer’s family had just stepped out into the field: a smoke-blackened kitchen with a stove, a barrel of butter, a waffle iron and many more kitchen stools, a living room with a tiled stove and the ‘Angle du Seigneur, a bedroom with a four-poster bed and a full closet.
In the salons of the Fürstenberger Hof as well as in the stable, the barn and the Back- and Brennhiesli, the museum shows with great attention to detail a realistic picture of peasant life in the Black Forest.
