This Saturday, February 12, 2022 was launched the new and eleventh season of The Voice on TF1. For the first blind auditions, the coaches were not disappointed! Marc Lavoine, Vianney, Florent Pagny and Amel Bent were indeed entitled to great performances on stage. But like every year, the quartet also made some disappointed. In particular, they were not convinced by the performance of Jean Palau, a 39-year-old farmer who had placed a lot of hope in the show to break into music.
Florent Pagny, however, shared his disappointment with this unfortunate outcome. “Excuse us… You sing very well. The level is all up there, everyone sings really well, we are there wondering: ‘But what are we going to tell him? Why didn’t we look back?’ While you also have your place because you sang really well. And we can just apologize, it’s stupid but that’s how it is“, he declared. A statement that Vianney did not share at all. He therefore reminded Florent that he could have simply buzzed: “But you know, if we want to go there, we have to go in fact!“
A bit annoyed by this remark, Florent Pagny was then slightly carried away. “But no, I have 50 guys to listen to, stop talking bullshit to me ! That means I’m going to say to 48 people ‘oh well that’s great but I can’t support it!’“, he replied. Vianney nevertheless stuck to his guns, implying that Jean Palau had perhaps not succeeded so well in his passage: “Well, if you sing really well, let’s go! me is that unfortunately I have things to say which took me out of the emotion.“
After they all addressed the disappointed candidate, Amel Bent came to temporize things between her two comrades. “He deserved but they all deserve“, she said. An analysis that eventually put them in agreement. “Yeah, that’s the problem with this damn adventure“, replied Vianney. And for Florent Pagny to conclude: “But so much the better that it upsets us a little.“
