Sticks of dynamite found in Rosemont

The fireworks from the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) were deployed at the corner of Avenue d’Orléans and Boulevard Saint-Joseph, where sticks of dynamite were found.

The police received a call to this effect around 1:40 p.m. Friday, said agent Jean-Pierre Brabant. ” Upon their arrival [sur les lieux]the police noticed that sticks of dynamite had indeed been left on Orléans,” he added.

A large security perimeter was set up and several residents were evacuated. SPVM pyrotechnicians were called to the scene to “analyze these sticks of dynamite and control them”. Mr. Brabant said no one was injured.

More information to come.
