Steven Tyler accused of sexually assaulting a minor

American musician Steven Tyler is the subject of a complaint of sexual assault on a minor, with whom he had an intimate relationship in the 1970s. The singer of the group Aerosmith met the complainant, Julia Holcomb, in 1973, after a concert in Portland when she was only 16 and he was 25.

According to court documents seen by the magazine RollingStone, which published the news on Friday, the parents of the teenager have given the rock singer custody of their daughter, “so that he will not be arrested if he takes her on tour with him”. Mme Holcomb also claims that she became pregnant with Tyler when she was 17 and was forced to abort the child.

Steven Tyler is not directly mentioned in the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, but the indictment cites passages from his memoir, Does the Noise in my Head Bother Youpublished in 2011. Julia Holcomb filed her lawsuit under California law that allows the statute of limitations for child sexual abuse to be temporarily waived.

On December 8, Aerosmith had canceled the rest of its concerts scheduled for Las Vegas at the end of the year, on the recommendation of the singer’s doctor.
