Stéphane Bern and the sale of his furniture: he pockets a small fortune!

Farewell Paris! Host Stéphane Bern has announced that he wants to sell his apartment in the 9th arrondissement of the capital, annoyed by the fate, according to him, reserved for the city he loved so much and wishing to end his life in the green. He has taken over the management of his Perche estate, which requires some work. Thus, by selling his Parisian mobilization he made a good deal!

January 26, in the pages of the newspaper The Parisian, Stéphane Bern reacted to the success of the auction of his furniture entrusted to the Daguerre house. “I’m quite satisfied. It was good bidding (…) There are pretty valuable things that have not taken off and small ones that have gone well above their price (…) Me, what matters to me now is to be able to do my work“, said the host of Secrets of History. the total amount of the sale is the very tidy sum of approximately 300,000 euros. Almost all of the furniture, trinkets and paintings sold by the host have found takers, “there was interest in France but also everywhere in Europe and even in the United States“, specifies for his part the hammer auctioneer, Benoît Derouineau.

As the daily reports, Stéphane Bern can also be delighted to have broke a world record ! Indeed, two ‘Marguerite’ tables signed by designer Hubert Le Gall, estimated at 12,000 euros, finally sold for 56,000 euros, a price never before reached. Among the unexpected surprises, we also note the sale of two baskets for dogs from the Buckingham Palace shop, sold at 400 euros, eight times their estimate. Finally, a gigantic painting more than 2.30 m high, representing Elisabeth-Christine of Brunswick (Marie-Antoinette’s grandmother) found a buyer at 36,000 euros. The host would have liked to keep it but it did not fit in his residence in Perche.

Stéphane Bern, who intends to spend peaceful days with his new companion Yori far from Paris, will use the amount collected to finance various works. “I have a dovecote to restore, I want to create a new entrance for visitors and set up a showroom“, he says, adding that he does not receive any public subsidy. The government’s heritage gentleman manages alone to finance the work and this sale will pay for about half of it.
