“All Stellantis car exports to Russia, and imports from Russia, are suspended,” said the company resulting from the merger of French PSA and Italian-American Fiat Chrysler in a statement.
On the other hand, the production of utilities at its plant in Kaluga, south of Moscow, “continues at a very low level”, said a spokeswoman for Stellantis to AFP.
In its statement, the group assures “carefully follow international regulations” and adapt its activity to reflect international sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.
Stellantis, which owns many brands (Citroën, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot…), represented a market share of 1.5% in Russia last year.
Major global auto groups, such as giants Toyota and Volkswagen, have suspended production in Russia, while others have limited local operations.
