The former leader of the identity group La Meute was arrested shortly before noon in the Vankleek Hill region, on the border with Quebec. He has since been detained.

He is due in court today to face charges of mischief and counseling others to commit the offense of mischief, according to a statement from the Ottawa Police Service.
